What’s an AMRAP workout?

AMRAP stands for As Many Rounds (or Reps) As Possible.

It’s a simple but brutal training format where you set a time cap — usually between 5 and 30 minutes — and complete as many rounds or repetitions of a workout as you can within that time.

No counting sets, no waiting for a clock — just pure effort and focus until the buzzer hits.

It’s one of the best ways to build conditioning, mental toughness, and endurance, while tracking your progress week after week.

Fun fact:

AMRAP-style workouts came out of the early CrossFit community as a way to gamify training — turning fitness into a race against yourself. The harder you push, the higher your score.

AMRAP Workout Example

15-Minute Full-Body AMRAP

As many rounds as possible in 15 minutes:

10 Kettlebell Swings

10 Push-Ups

10 Goblet Squats

200m Run or 30 Jumping Jacks

 

The goal: complete as many full rounds as you can before time runs out.

Keep track of your score and try to beat it next time — simple, sweaty, and addictive.
